Memory Quilt: Warehouse Barn Collector

In search of a new sustainable eco-logic, this project seeks to re-engineer a relationship with the earth/ground, built on the history of the American barn. Likewise, the spirit of the architecture recalls the horizontal open-bay of the American factory warehouse, historically a place of production. Using the program circumstance of the home as a design vehicle, this proposal conflates philosophies of the barn and the warehouse in the articulation of an alternative typology for the house, interrogating the collapse between the spaces of home and work.
